Gosh! We can’t believe Halloween is already here! We kinda threw ideas around with Mom about what we could be, then she pulled up pictures online to show us a few things that she thought were cute. We didn’t want anything too cumbersome because we need to be able to dart way at a moment’s notice if the need arises, although there were lots of cute things out there! There were some 3-D glasses in that latest KitNip box we got, but our answer to that was, ‘NO WAY!!’ Nothin’s gonna cover up our cute faces if we can help it!
We thought long and hard about what we should be. After Mom showed us these jester collars and we read the definition of a 'jester' on Wikipedia, we knew that was what we needed to be. See if you agree - here's Wikipedia's definition:
"A jester, court jester or fool was historically an entertainer during the medieval and Renaissance eras and was a member of the household of a nobleman employed to entertain him and his guests." - We didn't necessarily love the 'fool' part, but are DEFINITELY entertainers, so that was good! Here we are in our collars. They have bells and everything! That really made us wonder what was up at first, because no matter how fast we ran, we could NOT get away from them! We finally figured it out though and posed for pictures because we knew our friends would want to see how cute we look!

And not only have we had to decide what we were going to dress up like, but we had to decide if we are actually going trick-or-treating or if we're going to stay home and give out treats. That was a hard one, but we kinda decided that most people are not going to be giving out CAT treats, so we decided we'll just stay home and give out the things we decided would be fun! Mom told us she was proud of us for making that decision, and she said she was going to practice with us today. She's gonna ring the doorbell a bunch of times today, randomly, of course, so that we're not scared when all that starts happening later. We don't like sounds that are loud and unexpected, so if we practice today, that should help a lot by the time tonight gets here!
So many things to think about! Then we had to decide what we are going to give out to the little treaters. After much speculation and going back and forth with Mom, we decided to give out individual packs of Animal Crackers and Goldfish. Also, parents have to be so careful this day and time and we don’t know if this will be okay or not, but if the parents will let us, we’re going to give the children a Swedish Fish to eat right then just for coming by our house. That will be something they can eat right then to sugar them up even before they get home with their big pile of candy! Parents should LOVE that! Oh yeah, Mom had some suckers left over from some children's choir thing a few months ago, so we're gonna throw those in the batch to give out, too!

| "Doesn't this look like a big container of fun stuff for us to give out?" |
 |
| "I didn't know which pose I look better in, so I thought I'd post both!" |
 |
"Mom, these animal crackers were a wise choice,
even if we do say so ourselves!" |
 |
| "Goldfish, you say? Those look interesting!" |
 |
| "Of course we need to taste everything before we give it away?" |
 |
"There are going to be some lucky little trick-or-treaters
around here tonight!" |
 |
| "One last check to be sure nothing is overlooked!" |
 |
"Okay! Everything passes approval! I think we made some
good choices! If there are leftovers, can we have them?" |
And THEN, after we got all of this done and ready, Mom surprised us with a couple of Halloween toys she bought the other day! We seriously just have the best mom ever. For two cats who were just found on the side of the road, we sure do have a spoiled, good life now!
We've got lots to report coming up - Roxie's birthday is coming AND we have a new Kitnip Box coming next week, so there are some exciting days ahead. We're also REAL excited about time change tonight. The 'fall back' one is our favorite because Mom gets to stay at home with us for an extra hour! YAY!!!
Well, we're gonna go play with these toys and practice giving out treats (we have to practice that simple stuff that you humans take for granted since we don't have thumbs to help grab stuff with!), and OOPS (!!), Mom just rang the doorbell (one time of many to come, we're sure!), so we need to scoot and start working on that, but we hope everyone has a great Halloween! Be safe!
Well, Josie and Roxie, I'm afraid you have started something. . . Tiger and Fancy were looking over my shoulder while I read this and now they are mad. I think they want to know why we haven't done fun things during their years with me. In fact, I think they are pouting and hiding - I can't find them anywhere. So now I guess I'm going to have to go out and get them some 'treats' for Halloween. (I really enjoy your posts, I guess I just need to be sure neither of those two are around when i read them.) Love you both! Mimi
ReplyDeleteI read your comment to them, and they said, "OOPSIE!! We didn't mean to do all that - although we know they would like some treats! We love you, too, Mimi!"
