Blackmailed by Santa!

We mentioned few days ago that we were working on a new blog post, but it has taken a bit to come to terms with everything and get it all out as we worked through this recent turn of events...a kind of betrayal actually...

We have been blackmailed by Santa!!!

Mom came home a few days ago and after getting the mail, and was not so happy with us for some reason.  We greeted her as normal, did her a favor and let her touch us for a minute, then scampered out into the garage to sniff her tires to see where she had been that day, as usual.  After she finished going through the mail, she called us back into the house, and you know how it is when you hear,

"Girls - I need to talk with you both - NOW!!"

We ran back in like the obedient babies we are, but were soon ready to run back out into the garage and hide!

She began by telling us what good girls we are and how much she loves us, then told us how much she depends on us to do the right thing whether she's here or not.  She then began showing us pictures, some of which were taken while she was here, and some were not.  We haven't figured that out though, because we don't know how SHE didn't see what was going on if she's so all-knowing - like she thinks she is - and don't tell that we said that - we'd REALLY be in trouble then!!  Maybe she has cameras installed around here somewhere - we need to look into that!

Anyway, after our lecture, she let us know that Santa had been paying visits and sent her proof of what he'd caught us doing, both good and bad!  Uh oh - pretty sure bad outweighs good most of the time!  Here's what she showed us:

Here we are trying to check out the washing machine - while it's filling up with water!

Good thing Roxie was in a helping mood this day!

Yeah, well...it happens!

"Santa looks kinda like he can't believe this - like I'm
doing something wrong!  Actually, he (and Mom!!) should
be glad I was looking after my dental health!"

"Glad we helped mom get stuff for
trick-or-treaters together that time!"

Always fascinated with the washer!

"Good kitty!  Trying to read about Feuding Felines.
I got BIG points for this one!"

"Whew - another helpful moment, helping Mom
change bed linens!"

"Josie had no words or explanation for why
he caught her up on the shelf in mom's closet!
We'll say this was a 'not good' moment!"

"OOPS!!  Should have believed mom when she said
Santa was watching!"

"I have no defense!"

"WELLL - we just wanted some fresh air!!"

"Finally - caught doing something right!
Helping put away groceries!  (Actually, I
was looking to see if anything was for me,
but if this helps me get points with Santa,
I'm all about it!)"

'"Yep - good kitty again - helping Mom count ticket
money from the ladies luncheon last year!"

"Ummmm - I can explain!"

"It just felt good in there - and who knew
SANTA would be in there??"

"YAY!  Caught doing another good thing -
helping mom with luncheon seating!"

"Wellll - I just love heights!"

"Yeah, I can't believe it, either - trust me!"
Actually, she had a few more, but you get the jest of what has been going on!  We are trying a little harder to be on the straight and narrow from now until December, just in case we have more surprise visits!

"Rest assured, we understand and KNOW
what list we want to be on from now until
the end of the year!!"

You might want to warn your pets - SANTA IS REAL (!!!), and if they don't believe it, you can show them this blog post as proof!

...and for my next trick...

Hey!  Josie here!

Mom has had SOOOOOOOOO many people asking what Roxie and I have been up to lately, so while we were trying to think of something fun to blog about, I thought I'd show everyone my newest trick!  Mom was so surprised to come home the other day and see that I'd figured out how to open the drawers and cabinets in her - ummmm - in OUR - bathroom - so I thought, in case there are any other kitties out there who might want something new to try - I'd show everybody how I did that!

Here's what mom came home to the other day that she couldn't believe!

HA!  Meow!!  It was so funny seeing her reaction that I made a note to self that I needed to do this again one day, so the other day, she came home and I'd been trying to clean out the drawers in her bathroom!  I was just getting started when I realized I don't have thumbs and would make a real mess, so I just left the drawer open and showed mom what a mess we have to deal with when she got home!

She had a little talk with me and told me she REALLY wanted to know how I got so smart to figure out how to do all this, so I just decided I'd show her.  She can only understand so much of 'meow' talk!  So here I am opening the drawer and plotting my plan:

(Snicker, snicker - MEOW!!!)

I told Mom to watch closely.  I wasn't going to do everything did the other day, but here's basically how it happened!

The only thing I did different the other day is that I kinda got stuck, so I pushed out the top drawer trying to get out, but that didn't work, so I rolled out of the middle drawer into the cabinet beneath the sink and tumbled out through the vanity doors, of course, dragging some of mom's saline and stuff behind me!  I was hoping to hide that part, but again, the no thumbs thing was a bit of a hindrance.  I swear, I could almost be a furry person if I just had thumbs!

So that's how it's done!  I was really just looking for some soap, but wound up having a lot more fun than I thought I would!  Unfortunately, Mom did mention that she might look into child-proof locks, so I need to just lay low for a while and hope she'll forget about that!

Show this to all the kitties you know and tell them this will be a great surprise for THEIR mom, too!

We'll be thinking of something else to blog about so it won't be so long next time.  I looked today when I started posting this and saw that we haven't posted on our blog since last JULY!  Now that's just ridiculous!

I'm off to look for more entertainment!  We'll post again soon!  And Roxie says "Hi" to everyone!

Meow!!
