Gullible Mom

We have great news!  We finally got new food bowls!  We've been trying to force Mom into getting us new ones for a while now, and she finally got the hint!

When Mom first decided she was going to start making us eat dry cat food sometimes, instead of canned food all the time, she told us she didn't have anything big enough, so she used one of these pasta bowls that our Aunt Patty gave her a long time ago.  She loves these bowls because they are convenient for everything, and she thought we would like them, too.  Well, after we'd been using them for about a couple of months, Mom went into the kitchen one morning and found this one all jammed up against the wall, food all over the floor, and the bowl broken in half with some other chunks of it laying close by!  She said, "Uh huh!  How did this happen and I didn't even hear the ruckus??"  She was snoring so loud we KNOW why she didn't hear, but we didn't want to say anything!  She cleaned that bowl up, and all the slivers of it that were on the floor, then started thinking about what she could use that wouldn't be so breakable.

Well, she came up with something!   When she had cats before, (we've heard her mention Sweet Kitty and Chloe, but there's no WAY they were as fun as we are, in our own humble opinion!!), she had these self-feeder things - one that holds food, and one that holds water.  She was thrilled that she didn't have to buy anything - she just had to wash them out and fill them up!  And so she did.  We liked those okay, but the food didn't always drop down so easy and we couldn't get our paw in there to shake it well enough to make food drop down like it should, so one morning when she got up, she walked into the kitchen and found this!!  That was one way to get her attention!  The food AND water thing were all messed up.  She said, "Girls - what exactly do y'all do while your mom's asleep at night??  I can't believe I didn't hear that either!"  So, like before, she cleaned that up and got to thinking again....but WE knew what we were doing....we had a plan!!

Then, one day, someone at work brought in some food bowls they were getting rid of and said anyone that wanted them could have them, or they were going to Goodwill!   Mom wasn't at work for some reason when the email went around about this, so her friend Judy emailed her to ask if she wanted them.  Mom said, "YES!!!", so Judy high-tailed it in there to the kitchen to grab them up before anyone else did so Mom could look at them and see if she wanted them.

Well, Mom DID want them for us, and they are GREAT!  They are pretty, they are solid, and they are hard to move!!  Believe us - we've TRIED!!  Also, 'someone' has a deal about wanting to turn water bowls over and drink water off of the floor, and this keeps her from doing that, too!  We've had these a few weeks now, and we really like them.  Mom does, too.  She said she likes them because they are pretty, AND we don't make such a mess with them.  Hmmmm...we're sure if we keep trying, there has to be a way!  :)   Even as much as we like these, it's kinda fun to keep Mom on her toes!

So we just wanted to share  how we kinda tricked Mom into getting us new food bowls.  We wanted pretty ones anyway - we are girls, after all!  She thinks we were just turning those other ones over and breaking stuff because we were playing, but we really had a master plan all along, and she took it - hook, line, and sinker!  YAY us!!

We're hungry now that we've typed all  of this, so we're gonna go visit those food and water bowls ourselves!

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and if you have pets, give them some extra love - they'll appreciate it!!
